Holy Week and Easter at St. Mark's
Maundy Thursday, March 20
Agape Meal, Eucharist and Foot Washing
Our Holy Week observance of Maundy Thursday reflects the early church tradition of simplicity and sharing. We will all bring foods from this list that we will share: cheese, bread, olives, nuts, raisins, dates, almonds, hummus, crackers, dried and fresh fruits.
- 5:30 p.m. sharp! Gather in the Parish Hall to put out your foods.
- 5:45 p.m. Agape Meal, Eucharist and Foot Washing.
- 8:00 p.m. Procession into the church for Stripping of the Altar and devotions at the Altar of Repose.
- Watch through the Night: Following the service, we will take a portion of the consecrated bread and wine into the back of the church to the Altar of Repose. We will then issue the invitation of Jesus, to "Watch with me one hour." There is a sign-up sheet for people who wish to spend some time watching through the night in quiet prayer and devotion.
Please sign up for the Maundy Thursday event in the Parish Hall, call the office at 247-1129, or email CherylW@StMarksDurango.com. Be sure to tell us the number coming with you for this event!
